Condition Report

This pair is presented in good antique condition commensurate with age. The mahogany frames remain sound and stable throughout with firm joints and secure sabre legs on both chairs. The ormolu mounts are complete and retain attractive original gilding together with natural age-related patination.

The upholstery remains in usable and presentable condition with the Napoleonic bee patterned fabric intact to both backs and seats. The fabric is entirely in keeping with the classical Empire style, although buyers wishing to personalise the chairs further may choose to reupholster them to suit individual interiors. The frames remain in excellent condition for either immediate use or future upholstery work. An honest description from a specialist dealer with over 60 years of family experience.
