This impressive cabinet displays many of the features associated with the Regency Revival movement of the late nineteenth century. The architectural form is enhanced by a central pediment, ebonised fluted columns, and richly carved winged sphinx supports inspired by classical antiquity.

The central glazed section provides display space for books, porcelain, antiques, and decorative objects, while the side cupboards and drawers offer practical concealed storage. The warm mahogany timber is complemented by gilt mouldings, Greek key decoration, and finely carved shell motifs.
