The exterior displays superb kingwood veneers laid in decorative parquetry, showing excellent colour, figure, and symmetry throughout - the finely cast ormolu mounts and hand-painted porcelain plaque depicting cherubs adding considerable decorative richness at every angle. The shaped fall-front opens to reveal a fitted writing interior complete with a velvet-lined writing surface and a bank of small drawers - combining practicality and charm in the finest French tradition. The pierced brass gallery to the top adds architectural presence and refinement, while the graceful cabriole legs with ormolu mounts and sabots complete a piece of elegant proportion and complete decorative integrity.
