Description
A refined Antique French kingwood bureau de dame, dating from circa 1890, beautifully crafted and richly adorned with finely cast gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts and an elegant hand-painted porcelain plaque depicting cherubs, set within an ornate ormolu frame.
The bureau features a shaped fall-front opening to reveal a fitted writing interior, complete with a velvet-lined writing surface and a bank of small drawers, offering both practicality and charm. The exterior displays superb kingwood veneers laid in decorative parquetry, showing excellent colour, figure, and symmetry throughout.
Raised on graceful cabriole legs with ormolu mounts and sabots, the bureau is further enhanced by its pierced brass gallery to the top, adding architectural presence and refinement.
