Craftsmanship & Detail

The circular mahogany top is framed by a classical frieze decorated with finely cast ormolu motifs reflecting the balanced elegance and symmetry associated with Empire and neoclassical French furniture design. The table stands on three slender fluted legs adorned with decorative ormolu collar mounts and terminating in original castors for ease of movement. Below, a shaped undertier shelf enclosed by a brass gallery provides additional display space whilst strengthening the overall architectural form. The richly toned mahogany together with the gilt bronze detailing creates a sophisticated and highly versatile decorative piece suited to a wide variety of interiors.

The table is presented in good antique condition commensurate with its age. The mahogany top retains attractive colour and patina throughout, while all ormolu mounts remain present and intact including the central figural mount, decorative wreath mounts, and leg collar mounts.

The shaped undertier shelf together with its brass gallery remains sound and stable, while the original castors are present and functioning correctly. As expected with a genuine antique piece of this age, there is honest age-related wear consistent with over a century of use, adding authenticity and character throughout.
