Overview
A superb vintage English Regency-style mahogany round dining table and eight matching chairs by Rackstraw, forming an impressive nine-piece dining suite of excellent scale and decorative quality.
The centrepiece is the substantial 168 cm diameter circular dining table, distinguished by a particularly attractive radially arranged mahogany-veneered top. The veneers radiate dramatically from the centre to create a rich sunburst effect, surrounded by a contrasting figured border that gives the table considerably greater visual depth than a conventional mahogany dining table.
Accompanied by eight coordinating dining chairs and retaining the Rackstraw maker's label, this is a highly practical statement dining suite combining traditional English furniture design with the generous proportions required for modern entertaining.

Craftsmanship & Detail
The quality of the tabletop is the defining feature of this suite. Carefully selected mahogany veneers have been arranged radially around the centre, producing a dramatic sunburst pattern that changes character as light travels across the surface. A broad contrasting figured border frames the central field and emphasises the generous circular proportions.
Beneath, the table is carried on a substantial Regency-inspired pedestal base incorporating turned column supports and boldly swept sabre-form legs. Brass caps and castors provide an elegant period-style finishing detail while also making a table of this scale easier to position.
The eight coordinating chairs have elegant curved backs with figured veneered top rails, shaped uprights and restrained carved detailing. Their sweeping front legs complement the Regency character of the table, while the neutral cream damask-style upholstery provides a sophisticated contrast against the warm timber.
At 168 cm in diameter, the table provides an exceptionally sociable dining arrangement. A circular table allows all eight diners to face naturally towards one another while creating an impressive focal point within a dining room.
Complete labelled dining suites of this size are increasingly desirable, particularly where the original table and eight coordinating chairs remain together. The combination of impressive scale, decorative veneers and practical seating capacity makes this a particularly versatile set for a substantial dining room, country house or sophisticated traditional interior.
