Condition Report

Both chairs are presented in good antique condition commensurate with their age. The carved splat backs and cresting rails are intact on both chairs with no breaks or repairs of note, and the carving retains excellent depth and definition throughout. The mahogany frames are sound and stable with an attractive aged patina.

The two chairs currently retain different seat coverings — one floral needlepoint and one pink velvet. Both are functional and usable as they stand, although buyers may wish to reupholster the pair in a matching fabric to suit their interior. The claw and ball feet remain well defined on both chairs.
