The mahogany throughout retains a rich deep patina of genuine age - the flame-figured grain of the drawer fronts and fall front well-preserved and characterful. The dentil cornice is intact and complete. The gilded mirror door borders retain their gilding with the patina of age. The fitted interior is complete - all pigeonholes, small drawers and the central cupboard present and functional. The fall front opens and closes correctly on its brass quadrant stays. The five base drawers run smoothly. The brass handles and escutcheons are in good order. The bracket feet are sound.
