The cabinet is centred by a large glazed display section flanked by glazed side panels, all framed by fine herringbone kingwood veneers of exceptional figuring. The lower panels are decorated with finely executed Vernis Martin painted scenes depicting romantic pastoral figures — a hallmark of luxury French furniture of this calibre. Further elaborate gilt bronze ornamentation throughout - floral swags, scrolling foliage, and a richly decorated frieze - ensures there is no surface that does not repay close attention.
