Craftsmanship & Detail

The cabinet is beautifully veneered in richly figured burr walnut with deep natural figuring and warm colour throughout, contrasted elegantly by fine ebonised borders and mouldings. The central cupboard door is decorated with a finely hand-painted Sevres style porcelain plaque framed by gilt metal ornament, while the bowed glazed display cabinets to either side retain their fitted interior shelving. Turned columns with gilt mounts and delicate inlaid detailing further highlight the quality craftsmanship associated with high-grade Victorian furniture. The shaped serpentine form and refined proportions give the piece exceptional decorative presence, making it equally suited to traditional interiors or more contemporary design settings.

Presented in good antique condition commensurate with age and use. The burr walnut veneers retain excellent colour, depth, and natural figuring throughout, with the warm aged patina expected from a genuine Victorian piece. The ebonised detailing remains well defined and complements the rich walnut beautifully.

The Sevre porcelain plaques are present and display well, while the curved glazed display doors and interior shelving remain intact and functional. There are minor age-related surface marks, light polish wear, and honest signs of use throughout consistent with a cabinet of this age and quality. Structurally sound and displaying beautifully.
