Description

A fine late Victorian satinwood demi-lune side cabinet by Flashman & Co of Dover, dating from circa 1890. Crafted in richly figured satinwood with elegant rosewood crossbanding, the cabinet is decorated throughout with finely hand-painted classical panels.

The central door features a romantic mythological garden scene, while the flanking panels depict neo-classical pedestal urns, all framed within delicate line inlay. The demi-lune form is both refined and practical, offering strong visual presence while remaining well-proportioned and space-efficient.

Raised on elegant tapering legs and retaining its original internal shelving, this cabinet is a superb example of late Victorian decorative furniture, combining fine cabinetmaking with high-quality painted ornament.
