The serpentine demi-lune form, outstanding satinwood veneers, and refined neoclassical painted decoration combine to create a piece of considerable decorative presence and rare form.

Craftsmanship & Detail

The serpentine demi-lune form is richly veneered in satinwood of outstanding colour and figure, centred by a painted classical roundel depicting mythological figures and framed by floral garlands and ribbon motifs - all executed in a refined neoclassical palette typical of the finest Edwardian decorative furniture. Further painted panels adorn the sides with complete decorative consistency. The central drawer above a cupboard enclosing shelved storage makes this piece as practical as it is beautiful, while the elegant tapering legs with painted detailing complete a silhouette of excellent proportion and visual balance. A highly decorative and rare form, ideal as a statement side cabinet, hall commode, or drawing room piece.
