Craftsmanship & Detail
The cabinet is crowned by an elegant shaped cornice with sweeping curves and a richly carved central crest incorporating scrolling foliage, floral ornament and classical detailing. The pair of tall glazed doors follow the contours of the cornice, creating a particularly graceful and well-balanced façade.
The glazed front and side panels allow light to enter from multiple angles, making the cabinet ideal for displaying porcelain, silver, glassware, books, antiques or treasured collections. The interior is fitted with three shelves, which were left out temporarily at the time of photography.
Beneath the display section is a useful full-width drawer veneered in beautifully figured burr walnut and fitted with decorative oval brass handles. The shaped apron is enriched with carved floral and scrolling ornament, while the cabinet is raised on elegant carved cabriole legs terminating in substantial ball and claw feet.
A shaped stretcher joins the legs and is centred by a carved decorative finial, adding both stability and further visual interest. At 227cm high, this is an imposing statement cabinet with the scale and presence required for a large drawing room, library, dining room, hallway or luxury interior.
Queen Anne Revival walnut cabinets of this quality remain highly sought after for their combination of practical display space, finely figured timber and decorative carving. The cabinet offers excellent long-term appeal for collectors, interior designers and discerning homeowners.
