Craftsmanship & Detail
The long rectangular top is veneered in beautifully figured burr walnut, displaying the swirling grain, warm colouring and natural variation for which the timber is highly prized. Its generous proportions give the table considerably more presence than a conventional narrow hall table.
Beneath the top are two broad drawers, each faced in closely matched burr walnut and outlined by moulded borders. Decorative brass handles provide an attractive period-style contrast while offering useful concealed storage.
The drawers are raised above a deeply shaped and pierced apron, formed with a rhythmic sequence of scrolling curves. This decorative treatment gives the wide façade movement and prevents the table from appearing overly formal or heavy.
Four graceful cabriole legs descend from shaped shoulders and terminate in traditional pad feet. Their restrained curvature is characteristic of Queen Anne-inspired furniture and gives the table an elegant silhouette when viewed from both the front and sides.
