The richly veined rouge marble top, elegant white-painted frieze with hand-applied gilt decoration, and four slender fluted tapering legs combine to create a console of exceptional elegance and decorative presence. The semi-circular rouge marble top is framed by a delicate gilt-edged moulding, its attractive natural veining providing a luxurious contrast against the painted and gilded base below. The frieze is adorned with scrolling foliate motifs executed in classical relief and finished with warm gold highlights - the hand-applied gilding adding a layer of refinement and warmth entirely characteristic of the Georgian and Louis XVI Revival tradition.
