A fine antique Georgian flame mahogany bow front chest of drawers, dating from around 1800.

This elegant Georgian chest of drawers is beautifully crafted in richly figured flame mahogany, displaying superb grain across the drawer fronts and top. The chest features a graceful bow front form, a highly desirable design associated with late 18th century and early 19th century English furniture.

The piece stands between reeded columns and is raised on turned tapering legs, giving the chest excellent proportions and balance. The drawers retain attractive lion head ring handles, complementing the rich colour and patina of the mahogany.

With four generously sized drawers, the chest provides practical storage while also serving as a striking piece of antique bedroom furniture or Georgian period furniture.

Bow front chests such as this remain highly sought after due to their refined shape, quality craftsmanship and timeless appeal within both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Condition Note:  This chest presents in fine condition for a genuine Georgian piece 150+ years old. The flame mahogany figuring is vivid and intact with excellent colour throughout. The structural integrity is excellent with all joints solid and drawers operating smoothly. The oak drawer linings show honest wear consistent with age. The patina is original and undisturbed - exactly as collectors prefer. Minor age-consistent marks and variations add character and authenticity. This is an honest description from a specialist dealer with 60+ years family experience.
