The glazed door opens to reveal a velvet-lined interior with glass shelves - ideal for displaying fine objects, porcelain, or decorative pieces. The lower panel is beautifully hand-painted in the Vernis Martin style, depicting a romantic pastoral scene with exceptional character and visual appeal. The finely cast ormolu mounts - foliate mounts, escutcheons, corner mounts, apron mount, and leg mounts - are applied with complete decorative consistency throughout. The slender cabriole legs terminating in ormolu mounts complete a piece of refined proportion and elegant presence equally suited to traditional and contemporary interiors.

Good antique condition commensurate with age. The mahogany case is sound and stable throughout. All ormolu mounts - the gallery, frieze, corner mounts, apron mount, and leg mounts - are all in good order. The Vernis Martin painted panel retains its scene clearly, with authentic craquelure consistent with genuine age - this is natural patination of old varnish, not damage.

The crimson velvet interior lining shows honest age-related wear consistent with a cabinet of this period. Both glass shelves are present. The glazed door and sides are intact throughout. An honest description from a specialist dealer with over 60 years of family experience.
