The bed frame is beautifully decorated in the neoclassical manner with elegant moulded detailing including acanthus friezes, swags, garlands, bellflower drops, and finely shaped apron carving. Both the headboard and footboard feature striking blue and white Wedgwood Jasper-style plaques which create refined focal points and enhance the decorative quality of the piece. The soft painted finish complements the classical ornament beautifully, while the turned legs terminating in brass castors provide both elegance and practicality. The bed frame is presented in good antique condition commensurate with its age. The painted finish displays honest age-related wear together with the desirable chalky patination associated with genuine antique painted furniture, adding considerable character and charm.

Both Wedgwood Jasperware-style plaques remain present and intact to the headboard and footboard. All moulded decoration including the acanthus frieze, swags, garlands, bellflower drops, and apron carving is present and well defined throughout. The turned legs and brass castors remain sound, while the original side irons are complete and present, allowing the bed to be ready for practical use with a standard double mattress.
