The parquetry top is sound with no significant lifting or losses - there is minor surface wear consistent with age and use, which only adds to the warmth of the piece. The ormolu mounts are all present and complete, retaining good original gilding with natural patination.

The figural drawer plaque is particularly fine - crisp casting, warm gilding, no damage. The frieze drawer runs well. All four legs are firm and stable with no repairs or replacements. The brass bead-and-reel border is continuous and undamaged throughout.
