The buffet is beautifully crafted in solid oak and extensively decorated with deep relief hand carving depicting traditional hunting motifs including game birds together with harvest themed imagery, demonstrating the quality and craftsmanship associated with fine late 19th century French furniture. The upper section features a richly carved back with open display shelving ideal for decorative objects and serving pieces, while the lower section provides excellent practical storage through three drawers and three cupboard compartments fitted with spacious shelving. The buffet is presented in good antique condition commensurate with its age and impressive scale. The solid oak structure remains sound and stable throughout, with the drawers running well and the cupboard doors opening and closing correctly. The interior shelving remains present and functional.

As expected with a genuine piece of this age and scale, there is honest age-related wear throughout including natural patination and minor surface marks acquired over more than 140 years of use. These characteristics enhance the authenticity, warmth, and charm of the piece. An honest description from a specialist dealer with over 60 years of family experience.
