This cabinet demonstrates the quality and craftsmanship associated with fine French cabinetmaking during the Belle Époque period. The beautifully figured kingwood veneers are arranged in striking parquetry patterns and framed by finely cast gilt bronze ormolu mounts. The frieze is decorated with delicate ormolu garlands and floral motifs, while the lower panel is centred by a finely detailed classical ormolu plaque.
