The cabinet is finished in a rich black ebonised surface beautifully contrasted by finely cast gilt bronze ormolu mounts of exceptional decorative quality. Condition Report

This cabinet is presented in good antique condition commensurate with its age of approximately 160 years. The ebonised finish remains sound throughout with attractive natural patination and honest age-related surface wear entirely consistent with a genuine period piece.

The ormolu mounts are present and complete throughout with strong surviving gilding and attractive aged character. All Sevres style porcelain plaques remain intact and undamaged, with the turquoise grounds and hand-painted floral decoration retaining excellent clarity and colour. The original door lock remains present, and the cabinet is structurally sound and stable throughout. Minor surface marks and small areas of wear to the ebonised finish together with natural ormolu patination are entirely expected and enhance the authenticity and charm of the piece.
