Why Hawkins Antiques?

Description

Description

A fine quality antique Edwardian satinwood plant stand, dating to circa 1900, beautifully decorated with hand-painted floral and neoclassical detailing. This elegant pedestal table features slender tapering legs and two tiers, offering both practicality and refined decorative appeal.

The satinwood veneers display a warm golden tone, complemented by delicate painted motifs and inlaid borders, making this a standout piece for traditional or classic interiors. Ideal as a plant stand, lamp table, or decorative display pedestal, it adds height and visual interest to any room.

Compact in size yet highly versatile, this antique plant stand is perfect for use in living rooms, hallways, or bedrooms, and works equally well in both period and contemporary settings.

A charming and functional Edwardian piece, showcasing fine craftsmanship and timeless design.

Dimensions

Height: 115cm | Width: 27cm | Depth: 27cm

Condition Note: This plant stand presents in good antique condition with honest aged patina consistent with its circa 1900 date. The satinwood veneers are sound throughout with no significant lifting or losses. The painted decoration is well-preserved - the neoclassical motifs, floral borders and tassel drops retain good colour and definition across all surfaces, with the minor fading and light wear expected of a painted piece of this age.

The structure is firm and stable - all four legs are sound with no repairs or replacements evident, and the piece stands level and steady. The three shelf tiers are intact with no damage to the inlaid borders. The shaped aprons are complete.

Purchased a beautiful 19th century French kingwood display cabinet from Hawkins Antiques. I am delighted with my purchase and would love to purchase from here again in the future! Lee provided excellent communication with very quick and thorough responses. We purchased a table from Hawkins Antique and it is absolutely stunning and a mint condition! Delivery was very fast and the delivery team were fantastic and really went the extra mile to get the table into the house - it wasn't simple due to our narrow front door, but the guys managed to get it in, keeping the table safe along the way! Highly recommend - very happy! Made another purchase already!
