Condition Note: This nest of tables presents in very good antique condition consistent with their age and quality. The hardwood is sound throughout on all four tables with no structural issues - the joints are firm and the tables stand level and stable. The carved fretwork friezes are complete with no significant losses to the pierced carving, which is a notable point given the inherent fragility of open fretwork.

The finish retains a good dark polish with the natural patination acquired over more than a century of use. The tops show minor surface wear consistent with age - light scratching and tonal variation - which contributes to the period character of the pieces rather than detracting from them. The bamboo-form legs and stretchers are all intact and undamaged across the set.
