The shaped breccia marble top, richly toned mahogany frame, hand-painted Vernis Martin panels, and finely cast ormolu mounts combine to create a display cabinet of exceptional decorative quality.

Craftsmanship & Detail

This vitrine perfectly captures the refined Rococo revival styling associated with Linke's celebrated workshop. The bow-front glazed door and curved glazed side panels provide excellent visibility to the velvet-lined interior, which is fitted with two glass display shelves - ideal for the presentation of porcelain, silver, or objects of vertu. The hand-painted Vernis Martin panels and profuse ormolu mounts are applied with the decorative richness characteristic of the finest late 19th century Parisian cabinet-making. Standing on slender cabriole legs with gilt bronze sabots, the overall effect is one of considerable elegance and presence.
